Welcome back to Heart for Grabs.
Here is the teaser of the week.
Minutes later the receptionist called a lady back to see Karlos’ wife, freeing up a seat. I moved quickly, hardly giving anyone the chance to get the available seat. I worked out hard at my gym the night before and I walked laps around the mall looking for suitable attire for tomorrow's shenanigans. Needless to say, my ankles were shot.
When I reached the seat, I flopped down into it quickly. Squeezing in between a tall plastic plant and a short woman whose feet dangled above the ground and a mess of hair all over her head.
I stared at her out of the corner of my eye, trying to make out the features of her face. Her hair was so wild that it came down into her face like a sheepdog.
It was a bad comparison, but it was the only thing that I could come up with at the moment.
She smelled like cocoa butter. And her skin was so shiny and smooth that I could tell that it was part of her everyday regime. I felt weird staring at this lady. And I’m sure if she noticed, she would think I was weird as well. So I quickly diverted my eyes back to the blank screen of my phone. Silently reprimanding myself for being that creepy guy that I usually laughed at.
“You should have let the lady standing by the door have that seat.” The wild-haired lady said to me.
I swung my head in her direction.
The rasp of her voice caught me off guard. It was husky and low. Smokey even. Like if sex was a sound…. It would sound just like her.
